This weekend the Chaparral Girls and Boys Swim and Dive team competed in the Brophy Invitational. The Chaparral Girls won the meet scoring 461 points, Chaparral Boys finished 2nd with 342, and as a combined team of Boys and Girls won with a total score of 803 to the second finishing school that compiled only 318 points. Way to go Birds!
The Chaparral Girls on their way to winning the meet, broke three meet records. In the 200 Medley Relay the team of all Freshman Greer Pattison, Riley Courtney, Samantha Krew, and Jade Dalbey broke a 22 year old meet record. Also in the 200 Free Relay, the team of Jade Dalbey, Sara Segneri, Riley Courtney, and Chloe Zapata broke a 23 Year old Meet Record. As well with, Greer Pattison who broke an Olympic Gold Medalists 100 Back Record that was set by Misty Hyman, in 1995. Overall, we had individual top 3 finishes by Sara Segneri, Riley Courtney, Greer Pattison, and Samantha Krew. It was an amazing first invitational from the girls, with plenty more to come.
The Chaparral Boys finished 2nd Overall and had some outstanding swims. The boys had 3 relays finish 2nd and posted season best times and puts them at the top of the rankings in Division II. With that, we had multiple top 3 finishers by Matt Leblanc, Daniel Simmons, Samuel Acheson, and Ellis Bohon. The boys performed outstanding and are anticipating next weeks invitational at the PCDS Eagle invite to continue their success of fast swimming.
